Year 760 of The new Age, Autumn

Glenmore, Ridgeback Range

Featuring: Princess Galadiell, Donnchadh

Mentioning: Princess Líosa

--------------------------------------

Donnchadh

Her scent was driving him mad. Up until now, since they gave up their first and only child, he had controlled himself. They had both. Fearing what might happen to her even if they could keep a fawn alive.

Yet, the situation with Líosa was too much to bare for them mentally and they had no need for another child. He did not want his doe to feel she had to replace her first. Or question why they gave her away, then. And he especially did not want her to have to give up another fawn…

But his hormones forced ideas into his head. His eyes trailed to her tail, slowly making their way to her rump. His gaze was so intense that he had to shake his head and close his eyes in order to keep himself focused.

Or unfocused...then…

But again and again the winds blew, causing his eyes and thoughts to wander over and over and over the whole time. Just this morning, he had fought off two stags, defending her from their greediness. And soon after he had rammed into trees and bushes and anything he could to force his attention to wander. From her. But to no avail...

Donn had to admit, she was beautiful though...a little skinnier, her hair thinner...but still...so beautiful. So elegant and soft. Her posture balanced and graceful…he could still not believe she was his...

He took a deep breath again. Donn pulled himself together and suddenly, it turned out that thinking more clearly was even more dangerous. For now he also realised that in no time, when they reach the herd and he is executed - she will be given to another stag.

The now scrawnier but still muscular stag’s eyes grew still and worried. Distant. He did not blink.

Maybe...

Maybe this would also be a way to… He could leave her with… Her attention will be on the…His eyes focused on her again. A sad smile formed as he came to stand still. He knew no one was around.

An ache stung him in the chest as he thought of what he was about to do. She would not even know why he would not be worried about her bearing a fawn this season. He knew she would be cared for and the fawn would be thought to be that of the other stag she’d be given to. He would proudly and peacefully look down on his family from the sky, while hopefully - standing next to his grandfather and Óganach. Smiling.

It was decided. This would be their last...moment together. He would leave her with another love-child before he left her. For good.

Thanks to his hormones running wild - he did not even think what would happen if her scent did not last for at least a few days and someone might...notice. Instead...

‘’My love?’’ he said gently and softly, waiting for her to come closer.

---------------------------------

Galadiell

Galadiell was looking through the area for herbs.

Her love always came back with wounds, and her healing magic was exhausting. As such, she had started to look for herbs. She even became quite interested into healing since her love was injured so much. And she’d learned so much. Some herbs could be used to increase stamina, to allow a body to heal faster, to make a body hold on, but it had side effects, like hallucinations. Some were good for helping to make the body hold on, but made your crash after that.

Blackwoods were not friendly to her. They considered her ugly. With their own dark hides, they were hardly beautiful themselves …

She heard her love’s voice. She smiled, and turned around. “Yes, my love?”

Like each rut, her body was filled with a certain lighting, a warm sensation that made her long for her love. And it always grew worse when she saw him. She had at one point, considered taking some herbs against it, but decided against the idea. Why should she not long for her love?

Her eyes filled with passion, she looked at her partner, her betroth, her love. His body language was rather …. She’d seen this before. No restraints. She smiled. She caught on to his idea very quickly. Briefly, she wondered what if she was with fawn … Líosa … Her mind pushed forth the images of her child. But her body reminded her how much stronger she was NOW.

Why not? They could keep this one. Her milk wouldn’t dry; she knew of the herbs to prevent it. She knew of the herbs to keep herself strong.

This time, it could work. No, it would work. She was a princess after all.

She stepped closer to him, smiling. “Any plans, my love?” She teased him, letting her tail stroke over his legs.

--------------------------------------

Donnchadh

As her tail gently stroked his legs, a shiver and goosebumps followed.

So? She knew what he had in mind and she seemed at ease - remarkably. He was glad. She smelled sweet, with all of the plants she collected and tested here and there. He threw his head and snorted.

‘’Why, yes. Indeed I do, my dear.’’ He confirmed with a flirty voice.

The chestnut stag snorted again, tracking her tail out of the corners of his eyes as he pawed the ground softly. His full attention was on her face. Her eyes. He always seemed to be mesmerized by them - and now, even more so.

He slowly made his way around her after they had stopped circling each other. Donnchadh nipped at her mane and a flick of silky hair flew into the air. Careful not to hurt her with his newly- acquired crown - he felt her soft breathing as he came closer to touch her delicate cheek with his own.

Donn waited for a giggle. A laugh. And it came. He smiled at her and licked her chin as they hugged each other at the shoulder, embracing. She glowed somewhat…

‘’Princess...’’ he started as they stood there, eyes closed.

‘’Our love...is special to me. And no other competes with you. Or my feelings for you.’’ He now stepped back as he again met her eyes.

‘’I promised that I will forever cherish you. That is exactly what I plan on doing. And I hope that I will forever be in your heart. Because you will forever be in mine. And as you know, our child...children...is one of the many symbols of our union. Our...love.’’

He let his head rest on her back.

‘’My dear, are you sure that you want this?’’

---------------------------------

Galadiell

The palomino doe sighed so deeply, cherishing the moment in which she found herself. Being able to cherish her loved one, like she had only been able to do once before…

And she found, she had only come to love him more, despite everything.

He was her love. The one her heart longed for.  And suddenly, the sassy doe felt something. Strange … It was a longing, one she’d never known before.. It made her feel wild and desiring to join into rut … However, she realized it was not her desire … She looked into the chestnut’s eyes … in all her emotions, her love, she had discovered a new piece of her magic! The ability of empathy .. To feel what others feel. And right now, she felt what her love felt. How amazing ..

His words … He meant each and every word, more than she could ever believe. She felt so incredible, she’d never felt like this before - and all because of her love. Without him, she never would have bothered to learn about her magic! She never would have learned to survive on her own, without servants, learn about herbs … He had given her the most beautiful gift; an amazing little girl. Why wouldn’t she desire another child from this amazing stag?

“Of course I want this, my love. Nothing would make me happier, if it is possible to be happier than I am.”

Her eyes were flickering with light, and her long eyelashes danced over her hazel eyes. If only she could let him feel how she felt … She closed her eyes for a second, and let her magic flow freely around him, nursing him, boosting him .. “My love, you are the light in my life, even more than all this light magic can ever make me glow …”

Donnchadh

It was a strange feeling. He had only felt it a few times before. But this was very different. He loved it and adored it. She glowed a faint glow. He smiled and grunted with relief as he felt...a certain...peace?

‘’You are the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me, Princess.’’

They were standing close to a thornbush carrying black roses. One touched Donnchadh’s rump and as he closed his eyes and embraced her - he felt a tingling sensation and a quick flash of light startled him. He looked behind him, at the rose. It was now white and pure, standing out from the dark ones and looking lively. Enchanted. A mix of their magic.

Amazed, he stared at it. And then moved closer to pick it carefully. He carefully placed it in Galadiell’s mane.

‘’For you, my dear.’’ It was a symbol of their undying, eternal love. Proof that beautiful things can still happen in the darkest of places.

---------------------------------

Galadiell

Galadiell could feel her own magic mixing with her love’s … how odd it was … it seemed to guide itself to somewhere… Suddenly, the thornbush that had carried black roses, had something else on it. A pure white rose …

Galadiell gasped. It was amazing, beautiful … and it had been Donnchadh’s magic who created it … no, a combination .. a perfect mixture of there magic had made the black rose, pure white.

Donnchadh stared at it for a little bit, as amazed as she was … but then .. he picked it up. And he carefully attached it to her manes. “Donnchadh .. “ she sighed. She could not stop the tears in her eyes. “My love… Thank you”

She closed her eyes, the tears of happiness kept coming, as she carefully nuzzled him. “I will always be at your side, my dear…”

Her tail carefully played with his back. “Our love is immortal … and we will always be together… Just look at how our magic has grown, simply from being together… None in the herds had magic, it was fading, almost gone, and look at our magic… it flourishes, in this darkness… It means something.” She blinked her tears away, never having been so sure about something.

--------------------------------------

Donnchadh

His heart ached at her words. For he knew very well that soon...very soon...he will return her to her beloved herd. Their home. And accept his punishment willingly although regrettingly…

He closed his eyes then and let her magic softly flow through him - feeling the faint tickle and taking in her sounds. What she had said about their magic...it made sense. It made a lot of sense. But that did not matter now. And he had to accept that.

Luckily, he felt confident that he would leave her with one last memory of their...immortal love…

And he hoped that she would flourish along with their fawns - as he had always wished. The perfect family that he could now only dream of, once in his grasp but no longer. Something he could blame his father for!

But then a thought crept up his spine and hit him hard. It felt like the dreams Riona had always cursed him with. He thought: But Donnaghan had reason to fight Broccan. To hate him because of Lonan. Because of Lonan and Nuala. And from what I have heard - it was true this whole time. His...father’s...accusations.

Suddenly he felt differently about his sire as he looked at his doe. Would I not have done the same?

He knew the answer.
