Colonies are lead by a Queen and her Consorts.
When it is time to release offspring, the Queen releases special pheromones, and nearby workers will gather and produce a special jelly; once fed to the pops (young), they will grow up and gender; they will become Queens and Consorts themselves.
Zicqady Cleaning Bees have the prettiest colors, and less diseases compared to their Estenlar ancestors. This is because the Zicqady cleaning bees are less aggressive; a Queen from Zicady will attempt to gather Consorts with a very different color from herself; to ensure a genetic diversity that will keep her colony healthy. The offspring will mostly have the colors of the Queen; depending on her consorts, they may vary a little. If this happens on Estenlar, the colony might attack and kill the offspring. On Zicqady, the workers check the pheromones of the pop, to know if it's really one of them.

The Queen and her new Consorts will build and care the colony at first, in till their are enough workers to take over the job.
The Consorts have the heaviest job at first, building, protecting, nursing, but later in life, they will become the 'higher' guards, and only have the job of making sure the Queen stays unharmed, and help her produce new workers.

The hierarchy of the Colony:
Queen
Consorts
Workers
Fighters

The Workers do all the work around the colony; they nurse the pops, clean & feed the colony and make honey. They also go out to gather pollen, and prey.
Fighters are usually very few in numbers; they can be found inside the colony, guarding honey, guarding the entrances of the colony, or accompanying the Workers.

Fighters can sting multiple times; the poison comparable with wasp or bee poison. Workers do not have poison, but a healing chemical can be injected - this is used to keep large mammals as friends. Workers will even tend to injuries not caused by parasites or insects, if the mammals lives near the colony and defends it.
Consorts are pretty dangerous sting-wise; their poison is powerful enough to temporarily paralyze a human's arm. Quite dangerous if stung in the chest. Queens loose their sting after they start a colony.

As Pets -
If you succeed in capturing a queen or a consort, you'll have a companion that loves having you around for 10 years. Be careful with the consorts; they might try to defend you when you're having an argument with a friend.
Workers and Fighters can also be kept; they have shown to be able to leave their colony and live with humanoids caring for them. Workers and Fighters become about 1-5 years old.
In some cases, if you can get a hole of the pheromones and the special jelly, you can turn your own Worker into a Queen, or your Fighter into a Consort.

They have some intellect, and can be toughed tricks.

Bipyfs often live off Cleaning Wasps. Enemies.
